Krista + Jimmy: the wedding

The day started with a downpour and everyone was nervous about how the rest of the day would play out, but nothing would keep Krista and Jimmy from enjoying their day. I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a more relaxed couple on their wedding day and Mother Nature, while raining down early in the day, cleared things up for us and we had a beautiful ceremony and a serious party afterwards. Congratulations guys! Enjoy this sneak peek.

It was a bit breezy out on the balcony and Krista’s long veil decided to take off.

Jimmy, like me, is a serious Eagles fan and Krista surprised him with an Eagles garter… his reaction was priceless

Krista’s parents surprised the newlyweds and the guests with a fireworks display… it was awesome!

This cup has significance for Jimmy’s family… legend has it that good luck will come to those couples who drink from it simultaneously without spilling a drop… no wine was spilled

Matt + Honey: the wedding

This past Saturday Thao and I ventured back out to Coupland to shoot Matt and Honey’s wedding. Like the previous weekend when we were out there scouting the location it was gloriously sunny, but unlike the previous weekend it was chilly (in the 50′s) and windy. The chill nor the wind would keep these two from having a great wedding and fun celebration. Matt and Honey are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and I’m honored to call them my friends. Dyan + Daniel: the wedding

This was my last wedding of the year and what a way to end the season! D+D tied the knot at the always fashionable Lakeway Resort and Spa on Saturday October 11th (yes, I know I’m a bit later than usual blogging this wedding… my trip to Chicago pleasantly interrupted my normal flow). But the good news is that even though I’m later than usual I’m going to post more photos than usual from their special day. Dyan planned a memorable day with the help of Becky from Something To Celebrate and they were on top of everything. The day had a little bit of everything… a softball game for the guys and guests, pampering for the ladies, a sweet ceremony including Daniel’s daughter, a rocking party, and a sparkling exit. Dyan looked beautiful and was calm, cool, and collected the whole day. Daniel looked dashing and was full of nervous energy from early in the morning until late into the night. Their A-List guests kept things interesting all day and the Nash Hernandez Orchestra kept the dance floor filled all night long.

Jody + Sam: the wedding

This past Saturday Laura and I had the privilege of attending and photographing Jody and Sam’s wedding at Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley, TX. Both Jody and Sam are awesome people and are so in love. It was an awesome event and you just cannot beat a wedding that has 7 flower girls. Enjoy the photos.

Jody and Sam opted to see each other before the ceremony and Sam was a ball of nerves… he had a breathing exercise that Jody’s daughter taught him.

Amy + Parker: the wedding

So today I’m going to put aside my semi-normal random Monday thoughts in favor of something better… photos!

Saturday Laura and I shot Amy and Parker’s wedding at the Lakeway Church and Lakeway Resort and Spa. The weather didn’t really cooperate with us, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The guys started off the day with a scramble golf tournament followed by some fun in the pool (while the sun was still out). The girls hung out at the resort and relaxed while getting their hair and makeup done. We had a great time documenting this event for a wonderful couple. Congratulations guys!

Jeni + Brian: the wedding

First off let me apologize for taking longer than normal to post this sneak peek of Brian and Jeni’s wedding. Things at the Blueye house have been askew for the past few days and it took me a while to get my feet back under me. Now that I have I want to share some of the photos we grabbed at Jeni and Brian’s fantastic wedding at the Lakeway Resort and Spa. Jeni and Brian are an awesome couple and I’m so glad we got to spend the day with them and their crazy friends. The day started off poolside and ended with a mad dash through sparkler wielding guests. It was truly memorable and everyone gave the couple an event to remember. Enough with my blabbing. On to the photos!!

Brace yourselves oh faithful blog readers… I’m about to set a personal record for number of photos included in a single post. This past Saturday Laura and I had the wonderful pleasure of being part of Jennifer and Lewis’ wedding day and what a wedding day they had. The ceremony and reception were held at the always stunning Lakeway Resort and Spa, but Jennifer really outdid herself with all of the details taking the Vistas Ballroom from wow to DAAAAANG. She had a beach/water theme so everything played a roll in the theme… from the sand put down in the aisle to the tanks with starfish in them at the head table to the flowing water lighting on the walls to the beta fish hanging in bowls from beams above the tables. It really was an amazing event and I’m excited to share this preview with y’all. Congratulations guys and we hope you are having a great time on your honeymoon!

Doug from Amazing Ice Designs did a great job with the sailboat that was put in the middle of the buffet. This shot was taken later in the evening when it had melted a bit, but it still looked fantastic.

Allison from Wildflower Bakery did an amazing job on the cakes. I LOVED Lew’s grooms cakes.

There was no shortage of sweets at this wedding… check out this candy buffet.

Party Booth Pix provided a photo booth which was a hit with all of the guests.

Johnny Robinson of Complete Music provided the entertainment during the reception.

I just read this post on the Rocktographers Blog and HAD to share… not wanted to, HAD to. If you are getting married in the near future please please please keep this in mind. Great light is what we photographers search for and when we ask you to step outside of your reception for 15-20 minutes we’re doing it because we know you want great photos of you and your new spouse and we know we have an opportunity to wow you.

Stephanie + Junior: the wedding

Laura and I had the pleasure of shooting Stephanie and Junior’s wedding yesterday at Texas Old Town
in Kyle (with special guest Melissa Miller) and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The bride and groom were full of anxious energy… the families were laughing and having a great time… the weather was gorgeous (if a bit warm)… and the venue was beautiful.
