Krista’s Bridals

Krista and Jimmy tied the knot this past Saturday (photos of their wedding will be posted in a few days) which means I’m finally able to post a few photos from Krista’s bridal session. We shot her session at the beautiful Laguna Gloria. If you get the chance to visit the grounds I highly recommend you do. The location is gorgeous.

I have a huge list of photographer’s blogs that I watch and this list popped up on the Perez Photography blog today and I thought it would make for a great post tonight.

I AM … a proud American.
I WANT… to feel secure in my future.
I HAVE … the most loving, caring, and supportive family.
I KEEP… underestimating the strength of others.
I WISH I COULD … have more faith.
I RARELY … watch the sun set.
I CRY WHEN I WATCH … sappy movies and I’ve had a bad day.
I AM NOT ALWAYS … rational.
I HATE THAT … I care so much what others think of me.
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … where I want my career to lead me.
I NEED … to clean my office more often.
I SHOULD … definitely get more sleep.

It’s the day after Jennifer and Lewis’ wedding which means…

1. I can finally blog Jennifer’s rockin’ bridals.
2. A preview of the wedding will be posted in a day or two.

We shot Jennifer’s bridal portraits a mere 2 weeks ago during fantastic weather at the Sail and Ski Yacht Club on Lake Travis. Doesn’t Jen look amazing?!

For all you photographers out there, these photos were processed using the Totally Rad Action Mix from The Boutwells. Simply put, they rock!

Miscellaneous Monday #10 (bridal edition)

I will be leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow morning and won’t be back in Austin until late Wednesday night 3/19. I will be checking email periodically so if you need to get in touch with me while I’m away email is the best way to do it.

Here are Kendra’s bridals… finally (I would love to post these right after we shoot them, but that could spoil the surprise if we have a curious groom… so we wait until after the wedding to post them). Kendra’s Bridals

One of the most frustrating things about being a wedding photographer and doing bridal portraits is that I can’t share the photos until after the wedding . We don’t want to spoil the surprise for Jeremy or the wedding guests. Laura and I invaded Kendra’s mom’s house (thanks Kathy!) this afternoon to shoot Kendra’s bridal portraits and they are beautiful. Picture a excellently decorated, gorgeous house on Lake Travis coupled with a stunning bride in a fantastic gown and you can imagine we got some amazing photos. Kendra, you are going to love them. Please be patient while I process them and get your password protected gallery put up online. The wait will be worth it.

Candice!

I have been dying to blog these photos. Meet the beautiful Candice. Laura and I did her bridal session back on 7/26 down at the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin, but I didn’t want to post any of the photos for fear of her fiance seeing them. Well we shot Candice and Gunnar’s wedding yesterday so now I can post these. Yay! A sneak peek of the wedding photos will be posted later today. For now enjoy the bridal photos.

Trash the Dress?

An interesting trend is brewing in the wedding photography industry. Traditionally, after the wedding is over, brides have their dresses cleaned and then boxed up for preservation… some do it for themselves, some do it for the daughter they hope to one day hand the dress down to, others do it because they don’t know what else to do with it. But recently there have been a small group of brides who don their dresses one last time for the sole purpose of making some memorable and magical photos… all the while trashing their dress. I love the idea, but I don’t know how many of my clients would go for it.
