My Passion & My Work

Hey there and welcome to the Blueye Photography blog. My name is Troy and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer located in Austin Texas. I love making photos that are real... real moments, real smiles, real love. I'm not sure that I can put my photography style into a single category, but you can be sure that I'm looking for the best light and the most creative angles I can.

In my blog you'll find everything from sneak peeks of client sessions to personal information. My life is (almost) an open book and I like to share as much as I can. Most entries will include photos... this is a photographers blog after all. I also love feedback about my photography/posts/website/life so please comment as much as you like. I read them all and try to respond to each and every one.

After you've read through some posts and gotten to know a bit about me feel free to check out my portfolio site using the portfolio link above. The blog is updated more frequently than my site, but you won't want to miss checking out my portfolio either.

Thanks for stopping by.

A hot day in Kendalia, TX

This past Saturday Melanie and I headed out to Kendalia, TX for Heather’s bridal session. After enduring a torrential downpour on the way we arrived at Heather’s family’s land and proceeded to have a hot, sunshine filled, sweaty, hot (did I mention it was HOT?) session. You’ll have to wait until after the wedding to see the actual bridal photos, but I wanted to post a few of the random shots that I got. You never know what you are going to get with our sessions :)

If you are a goat, the grass really is greener on the other side

This fellow was taking care of the goats and came over to inspect our bride. He approved :)

Melanie looking awesome in my hat and helping out with the flowers and dress protection sheet.

The area we shot at is known as Edge Falls and, though the falls were dry this day, there were quite a few people swimming at the falls and jumping off the cliff 3 stories above the water. I just happened to be scouting the upper falls when I ran into Monica who was about to jump. Who am I to pass up a good photo op? Here’s the entire sequence put into an animated image (The quality is a bit sketchy, but that is so I could bring the file size down enough to make is somewhat fast to load)

September 1, 2008 - 10:27 am Heather Owens - I love the pics........... They are great. I am so excited to see bridal photos.

September 1, 2008 - 10:37 am Heather Owens - Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you.....Last night we went downtown and our white walled building from the engagement photo's was bulldozed. No, I am not kidding. It is gone. Glad we did our pictures when we did!

September 1, 2008 - 11:53 am Troy - Bummer. The last time I drove by there I noticed a few of those orange construction fences, but I didn't know what they were working on. Hopefully they don't tear down the building with the Texas flag on it.
