Tonight was such a good night. I felt kind of blah leaving work and heading downtown, but the feeling quickly dissipated when David Jay and Jasmine Star began speaking and sharing the passion that they have for building a strong, well branded business. Jasmine was effusive in her presentation and DJ was so grounded and sincere. Thank you guys for putting together this tour and stopping by Austin.

Shout outs to Shyla (keep working on that PJ style… you’ll get it) and Amanda (who would have guessed I’d meet someone from Lancaster, PA at this workshop?). I enjoyed meeting you both and hope to keep in touch.

I have only one thing to say tonight: go. see. the. dark. knight.
We just saw it tonight… fantastic movie… nonstop action… 2.5 hours fly by… Heath Ledger did a phenomenal job.

This past Tuesday, on a sweltering summer evening, Melanie and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Heather and Bob for their eSession in downtown Austin. You might remember them from their family photos that we did a few weeks ago. Despite the heat we hit a few great locations downtown and captured some awesome photos of them. In less than 2 months they will be getting married in Prague! It’s totally going to rock… too bad I won’t be going with them On to the photos!

This was a new find… and I totally LOVE it!

This week I’m going to skip the YouTube Tuesday in order to bring you a sneak peek into Bruce’s 50th birthday bash held at 219 West this past Saturday night. I’m so glad I met Kathy and Bruce through shooting Kendra and Jeremy’s wedding. They are an awesome couple and they throw one heck of a party! It was a fantastic event and everyone had a great time. The band kept the dance floor packed all night long. I basically roamed around and documented the fun. I even setup a mini photo booth under the VIP lounge and got some fun shots with my ring light (make sure you click the more link below to see a few of them). Enough babbling… on to the photos.

Yeah, I know… I’ve been a slacker… missed the last 2 Monday posts. There are reasons, but they are a bit too personal for me to share on my blog, but just know that I’m back on track and ready to drop a bunch of randomness on you today

Thanks to some perfect timing and generosity of a friend I now have a used table tennis (aka ping pong) table in my garage. The best part is that I didn’t have to spend a dime on it (and it’s a REALLY nice table… as table tennis tables go). The worst part is that I had to spend 4 hours yesterday in the middle of the afternoon cleaning the garage and rearranging it so we could actually set up the table and play. Good times. Good times. So if you are ever in Austin and are craving some ping pong action shoot me an email.

I’m still miffed at Apple over this whole iPhone 3G fiasco. I say fiasco because I wasn’t able or willing to wait in line the Friday it was released, had a wedding to shoot the Saturday afterwards, and now it looks like I may have to wait an additional month to get my hands on one. Grrrrrrr. I just don’t understand how they missed how popular the new version was going to be. Seriously? They provided only enough stock for one or two days. Seriously?! If the point was to make more people want them because they are hard to find it’s not really working for me… I’m starting to want it less. Wifey wants an iPhone and could care less about the features of the 3G so I’ll get the new phone and she’ll get mine. Ebayers are still gouging folks for the old phones too so it doesn’t make sense to go that route. I’m stuck and I’m upset.

Have you seen The Dark Knight? How was it? I dared not venture to the theaters this weekend for fear of the mob, but I’m itching to see it. Maybe this coming weekend… who knows. I have a bridal session on Saturday so it would have to be Sunday. Perhaps after church…

Now that I have a table tennis table in the garage I want to put up a dart board as well. I’ve been looking for a few days and have narrowed down my options to a Guiness board and cabinet, a Philadelphia Eagles board and cabinet, or a plain cherry cabinet and bristle board. Which would you go with?

First off let me apologize for taking longer than normal to post this sneak peek of Brian and Jeni’s wedding. Things at the Blueye house have been askew for the past few days and it took me a while to get my feet back under me. Now that I have I want to share some of the photos we grabbed at Jeni and Brian’s fantastic wedding at the Lakeway Resort and Spa. Jeni and Brian are an awesome couple and I’m so glad we got to spend the day with them and their crazy friends. The day started off poolside and ended with a mad dash through sparkler wielding guests. It was truly memorable and everyone gave the couple an event to remember. Enough with my blabbing. On to the photos!!

I’ve been on a high with my bowling league lately. Two weeks ago I bowled a 663 series, last week I bowled a 649 series, and I currently hold the league’s high average at 208. That means I’m pretty much due for a 150 average week. We’re only 4 points out of first place heading into the mid season position round so it’s looking pretty good for us.

Keeping with the sports theme I’m running a table tennis tournament at work and we’re almost finished with the tournament. I’m currently still alive in the loser’s bracket, but I’m not sure how long that will last. There are some good players who just emerged from the ranks a couple weeks ago. Wish me luck.

Anyone else sit through the Bachelorette season finale tonight? I watched it with Melanie and we were both surprised that she picked Jesse. Did you predict that?
