My Passion & My Work

Hey there and welcome to the Blueye Photography blog. My name is Troy and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer located in Austin Texas. I love making photos that are real... real moments, real smiles, real love. I'm not sure that I can put my photography style into a single category, but you can be sure that I'm looking for the best light and the most creative angles I can.

In my blog you'll find everything from sneak peeks of client sessions to personal information. My life is (almost) an open book and I like to share as much as I can. Most entries will include photos... this is a photographers blog after all. I also love feedback about my photography/posts/website/life so please comment as much as you like. I read them all and try to respond to each and every one.

After you've read through some posts and gotten to know a bit about me feel free to check out my portfolio site using the portfolio link above. The blog is updated more frequently than my site, but you won't want to miss checking out my portfolio either.

Thanks for stopping by.

Traveling to San Francisco

It’s business trip time: destination San Francisco.  I’m only going to be bringing my Canon G9 point and shoot with me, but in case you are looking forward to some great SF bay shots check out this Flickr photostream.  He’s amazing!

I’ll be back on Thursday, but will be checking email while I’m away so if you need to get in touch with me email away.

Miscellaneous Monday #9

Happy President’s Day!  Pop quiz… which President’s birthdays are we celebrating on this day?
———————–
Melanie and I rented a handful of movies this past Saturday and tonight’s selection was Live Free or Die Hard.  There were a handful of WTF!?! moments, but overall the movie was enjoyable.  John Maclane is insane and he has more lives than a cat!

Tax season is upon us and I am growing tired of looking for all of my expense receipts.  I need to be more organized.  Anyone have a good setup for organizing expenses?  I’m good about recording them electronically, but for tax purposes I need to have receipts to give to my accountant.

A heads up to my clients and prospective clients that I will be in San Francisco for a few days starting this Sunday.  I plan to keep up with email while on the trip, but if you email me and I don’t respond immediately know that I’ll reply when I’m back in Austin.

I saw this on [b]ecker’s blog, but feel the question needs to be shared with as many people as possible… who gave this movie the green light? (click that link at your own risk)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

To all you lovebirds out there, have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Melanie has been on a retro t-shirt fad with my gifts lately and got me a Mr. Tickle t-shirt… I love it!

Miscellaneous Monday #8

I can’t believe it’s February already. Time has been flying lately. In exactly 1 month I’ll be in Las Vegas learning from the awesome Boutwell’s and Cooper’s at the Anti Workshop!
—————
I have been so tired lately. I need to start getting more sleep at night.
—————
Anybody have any fun plans for Valentine’s day? I can’t post mine yet because Wifey likes to read the blog :-)
—————
I’m working on a new website with new branding, color scheme, updated photos… the works. The problem is I’ve been too busy to put much time into it so I don’t know when it’ll launch. Ever have that feeling that you have too many things to do and not enough time to do them all?

Kendra + Jeremy: the engagement

Yesterday Melanie and I had a blast of a session with Kendra and Jeremy. We wandered all around downtown Austin shooting at the Capitol, UT, Congress Ave, The Hideout, The Bob Bullock Museum, Austin Energy, a random swingset, and the Palmer Event Center. They were such great sports and we all had a great time. I have so many great shots that it was hard to choose which ones to post to the blog. I may sneak a few more into future posts, but for now enjoy these. We’re so looking forward to their wedding next month.
