My Passion & My Work

Hey there and welcome to the Blueye Photography blog. My name is Troy and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer located in Austin Texas. I love making photos that are real... real moments, real smiles, real love. I'm not sure that I can put my photography style into a single category, but you can be sure that I'm looking for the best light and the most creative angles I can.

In my blog you'll find everything from sneak peeks of client sessions to personal information. My life is (almost) an open book and I like to share as much as I can. Most entries will include photos... this is a photographers blog after all. I also love feedback about my photography/posts/website/life so please comment as much as you like. I read them all and try to respond to each and every one.

After you've read through some posts and gotten to know a bit about me feel free to check out my portfolio site using the portfolio link above. The blog is updated more frequently than my site, but you won't want to miss checking out my portfolio either.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rayna + Mike, the E-Session

Yesterday evening Laura (from Wootan Weddings), Melanie, and I got to run around town with Rayna and Mike for their engagement session. We all had a GREAT time. I wish I had a videographer along with us or at least a voice recorder to catch some of the wacky things that we said along the way. Rayna and Mike are a lot of fun and made the session a blast to shoot. I’m really looking forward to their wedding in October. These are a sampling of the many photos that I got (and I haven’t seen Laura’s photos yet). Enjoy.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Rayna and Mike made the header of the blog as well :)

The move is finished and I have a new blog!

If you see the title of this post and think “what move is he talking about?” then you experienced what I had hoped would be a seemless transition from my old hosting provider to my new hosting provider. In any event the move is finished, all of my pages are loading properly, my email is being delivered to the right mail server, and my blog got a facelift. Let me know what you think of the new look by leaving me a comment. I like comments :)

The site is moving

Okay y’all. Just want to give you a heads up that my website (not this blog) will be moving from one hosting company to another over the next couple of days. I believe that I have everything setup on the new host correctly so it should be transparent, but you never know what can happen. So if you get an error when coming to the site or sending me an email please be patient and try again in a few hours. Thanks.

If it’s absolutely important to email me in the next few days please email me at blueyephoto@gmail.com.

Meet Ethan!

Today we had the pleasure of visiting with one of our favorite couples, Jen and Jeff, and photographing their sweet little son, Ethan. They were real troopers and 3 month old Ethan put up with the flash for as long as he could before he told his Mom that it was about time for some food. We had a good time and made some great photos. Here are a few from this morning’s session.

PS. Can you tell I LOVE little baby fingers and toes? :-)

Kevin and his motorcycle

Hello everyone–
It’s been a bit since I’ve blogged and I wanted to share a few photos of my brother and his new motorcycle. Melanie and I just got back from a trip to Pennsylvania to visit family and I finally got to see Kevin’s new bike. It’s a beautiful Kawasaki Ninja 636. If you don’t know anything about bikes (like me) I’ll just tell you that it’s tricked out, very fast, and very shiny.

Be on the lookout for some new blog posts in the coming weeks. I have a few shoots coming up including a family with a new baby, an engaged couple, and a few weddings.
